Announcing a symposium on "Contemporary Italy and Immigration: A New Mediterranean Order?" to take place on May 2, 2011, 4-5:30 pm, at the Multicultural Center Theater on the UCSB campus. Participating in the symposium will be Rula Jebreal, author (novel and film adaptation of MIRAL), journalist and former anchor of the RAI3 national news, together with Profs Claudio Fogu and Jon Snyder (Italian Studies), Prof Garay Menicucci (Global Studies) and Prof Lucia Re (Women's Studies, UCLA).
