The following Italian-language films will screen as a part of the department's Italian Film Series, Winter 2011:



VINCERE (dir. Bellocchio), a drama based on the story of Mussolini's first wife, will be shown on Thursday, January 27, 5 PM, Buchanan 1930.



MALAVOGLIA (dir. Scimeca), based on Verga's unforgettable nineteenth-century tale of Sicilian fishermen, will be shown on Thursday, February 22, 6:30 PM, Buchanan 1940.



LA PRIMA COSA BELLA (dir. Virzi), an acclaimed comedy about the return of a teacher to his hometown in coastal Tuscany in order to assist his ailing mother, will screen on Thursday, March 10, 6:30 PM, Buchanan 1930.



All screenings are free and open to the campus community.
